Rusk ISD Attendance Notification Update

Keeping Families Informed About Student Attendance

Rusk ISD is excited to implement a new daily attendance notification process designed to help keep parents and guardians informed about their student’s attendance throughout the school day.
Beginning this school year, families will receive an automated attendance notification each evening when a student is recorded as absent or tardy at any time during the school day. This notification will be sent even when a student is participating in a school-sponsored activity or field trip.

What Families Can Expect

ParentSquare notifications will be sent at approximately 6:30 p.m. each evening through:
  • Voice Call
  • Text Message
  • Email
Families will also receive an attendance notification through Skyward Family Access. The notification will be emailed to the family and posted to the family’s Skyward account.

What If the Attendance Information Is Incorrect?

These automated notifications will replace individual phone calls from the school each time a student is marked absent. If you receive a notification that you believe is incorrect, please contact your student’s school office so that we can review the attendance record and make any necessary corrections.
Our goal is to provide families with timely, consistent, and transparent communication regarding student attendance while making the process more efficient for our campuses.
Thank you for partnering with Rusk ISD to support regular, timely, and successful student attendance!
